The Knights of Columbus Fraternal Order began our year-long 125
th
anniversary celebration on March 29. Keep
Father Michael J. McGivney's dream alive by inviting all practical Catholic men age 18 or over to join us in our mis-
sion.
Recently I learned of an alarming situation that I felt should be brought to the attention of our members of the
Knights of Columbus.................................
"Did you know that Catholic Forum, the radio program that is produced by the Office of Communications of the
Diocese of Wilmington, is the oldest Catholic radio program in the United States? Well, it is! It has been on the air
on WDEL since 1939!
In August of 2006, Catholic Forum began to be carried on WGMD, 92.7 FM in Sussex County making Catholic
radio available in that area for the very first time. Now the program may have to be canceled unless a business, indi-
vidual or organization is found to help sponsor the program. Sponsorships are less than $50.00 a week. For more
information, call Bob Krebs at 302-573-3116. Let's help the diocese keep Catholic radio on the air in Sussex
County."
If you know of any business, individual or organization that might have a need for advertisement please
speak to them and then give them Bob's name and phone number.

WISHING YOU ALL A WONDERFUL SPRING AND THE BLESSINGS OF EASTER

Vivat Jesus!

My Dear Brother Knights & Families,
Our Lady Queen of Peace is one of the titles of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which the Church
bestows on her as the Mother of Jesus Christ our Lord. We honor her under this title both in
the Litany of the Virgin Mary and also in prayer especially when we pray for peace. The
peace which our Lady gives to us is not always a peace which is the cessation of wars or
hostilities, but a peace which only comes from her Divine Son, the Prince of Peace. We can
experience that inner peace if we pray and are one in heart, mind, and soul as she was with
her divine son. Every year we celebrate the feast of Our Lady Queen of Peace. All Chris-
tians throughout the world celebrate this special day invoking the Mother of God to intercede
for us and bring peace to our world. Our world indeed is in need of God's peace and love.
On May 26, 2007, at 4 PM, our most Reverend Bishop Michael A. Saltarelli will bless and dedicate the 32 foot
statue of Our Lady Queen of Peace on the grounds of Holy Spirit Church facing the Delaware Memorial Bridge where
thousands of souls travel each day on their way south on I-95. May is the month dedicated to Mary and in prepara-
tion for this day I would like to share with you and ask you to pray often the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the
prayer composed to Mary Queen of Peace by our late beloved Pope John Paul II.
I quote from the Prayer Our Lady Queen of Peace which the Holy Father formulated for the people of Oceania but
has been adapted for the whole Church.
O Mary, Help of Christians. in our need we turn to you with eyes of love, with empty hands and longing hearts. We
look to you that we may see your Son, our Lord. We lift our hands that we may have the Bread of Life. We open wide
our hearts to receive the Prince of Peace.
Mother of the Church, your sons and daughters thank you for your trusting word that echoes through the ages,
rising from a soul made full of grace, prepared by God to welcome the Word to the world that the world itself might be
reborn. In you, the reign of God has dawned, a reign of grace and peace, love and justice, born from the depths of
the Word made flesh. The Church throughout the world joins you in praising him whose mercy is from age to age. O
Stella Maris, light of every ocean and mistress of the deep, guide all peoples across all dark and stormy seas, that
they may reach the haven of peace and light prepared in him who calmed the sea. Keep all your children safe from
harm for the waves are high and we are far from home. As we set forth upon the oceans of the world, and cross the
deserts of our time, show us, O Mary, the fruit of your womb, for without your Son we are lost.
