Council/Assembly Webpage:
Due to the generosity of our web host each council has the ability to
have a separate area on the website. The Supreme Council offers a
template to publish a professional looking and informative council or
assembly website for free. The template is available at
www.template.kofc-de.org
, and comes with complete instructions for
how to customize the pages. Holy Angels Council has already taken
advantage of this free service and here's what their site looks like
www.12104.kofc-de.org
. Cardinal Gibbons Assembly also maintains a
site based on the same template
www.150.kofc-de.org
. To show that
the possibilities are endless, Old Bohemia Council created a custom
design at

Proudly display your support of and membership in the Knights
of Columbus by placing a KofC license plate on the back of
your vehicle. It is inexpensive (one time $10 fee), easy to
obtain and transferable to a new vehicle at no cost. There are
a couple of ways we can handle the processing of the paper
work so it is best to call the License Plate Coordinator Jim
Gardner at (302) 737-7364. Let everyone know that you are a
Knight of Columbus!
This marks the thirteenth year that the Delaware Knights of
Columbus are awarding $500 scholarships to families that are
struggling to keep their children in Delaware Catholic Elemen-
tary Schools. To date the Delaware Knights of Columbus has
awarded three hundred and five $500 scholarships to Our
Catholic Elementary Schools, for a total of $152,500. Our goal
is to award two $500 scholarships at each of the twenty Catho-
lic Elementary Schools in Delaware. Recipients of these
awards are nominated by the principal in each school and their
names remain anonymous to the public. Five week fundraising
tickets are now on sale for a donation of $10.00 each. Prizes
will be awarded with three winning numbers drawn each week
for the first four weeks in the amounts of $75.00, $50.00 and
$25.00. Four winning numbers will be drawn on the fifth and
final week in the amounts of $300, $200, $100 and $50. This
gives each ticket sixteen chances to win. The first drawing for
this year's fundraiser is set for Friday, March 2, 2007. Tickets
are on sale by each council or by calling Scholarship Fund
Chairman, Larry Gardner at 999-3743 days or 999-1519 eve-
nings. His Excellency Bishop Saltarelli has often stated his
gratitude for the effort the Knights put into this very important
program. Please Help Support Catholic Education for Our
Children.

This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the William J. McClafferty, III,
Breakfast of Champions for the Missions to be held on Sunday, March 4,
2007. The festivities will take place at Christ Our King Church starting
with Mass at 10:00 am, celebrated by The Most Reverend Michael A.
Salaterlli, DD., Bishop of Wilmington. Immediately following Mass, break-
fast will be served in the Church's Social Hall. This Mass and Breakfast is
in honor of the students of Diocesan Grade Schools and Religious Edu-
cation programs who have championed the Mission fund drive in their
parishes. As Knights, we set the example for the children through our
donations to this annual fund drive. The money we raise each year is
presented to the Bishop to continue the Missionary efforts of the Diocese.
If you have never been to this event, make it happen this year and bring
a friend. It promises to be an enjoyable and worthwhile experience. Tick-
ets for the Breakfast are $10 for adults and $5.00 for children, available
at the door.
Volunteers will be needed to set up, prepare and clean up for the event.
Let's all participate to make this event the success it has been for the
past 50 years. Assignments will be forwarded to Grand Knights. We need
your help. Please plan on volunteering and attending this event. Addi-
tional information may be obtained from Program Chairman, Mark A.
Fontana, Sr., GK at (302) 588-5989 or email

BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS
SCHOLARSHIP FUND
SCHOLARSHIP FUND MATCHING DONOR
An anonymous brother Knight has made a matching grant of
up to $5,000 to support the State Catholic Elementary School
Scholarship Fund. Presently the State Scholarship Fund has
$10,000 in the Supreme Council Christopher Fund that pays
out like an annuity each year at a rate of 10% to 25%. This
annual pay out is used along with the proceeds of the Football
Pool and Five-Week Club Raffle to provide the Catholic school
scholarships that we present to each Catholic Elementary
School in Delaware every spring. This is great opportunity for
us to build the fund, but we cannot do it at the expense of the
Five-Week Club because those proceeds are needed for this
year's scholarships. If any member, council or assembly would
like to make a donation that will be matched dollar for dollar
without affecting the Five-Week Club sales, please contact Jim
Gardner (302) 737-7364 before January 26, 2007. Checks
should be made out to Delaware State Council. All donations
are fully tax deductible.
