State Council is not a Council unto itself, but the governing body made up of representatives for all Councils in the State. Therefore,
participation of each and every Council is essential for a successful year. While each Council is involved with their particular parish
and local community activities, it is important to remember the lessons of our Degrees, that each Council is also a part of the whole
Knights of Columbus Order and has a stake in State and Supreme activities. State meetings are held on the 2
nd
Thursday of each month,
at varying locations throughout the State. These locations are listed in the State Newsletter, on the State Yahoo e-group, and on remind-
ers sent by the State Deputy. Every Grand Knight has the responsibility to attend these meetings, or to send their Deputy GK and Fi-
nancial Secretary, when necessary. All Delaware Knights are invited and encouraged to attend State Council meetings. Participation at
State Meetings is the surest way of ensuring that you and your Council are kept abreast of Knights of Columbus activity throughout the
State of Delaware. The Installation of State Officers and District Deputies was held on Sunday, July 9th at St. Mary Magdalen Church
in Wilmington and the first meeting of the State Council for the new Columbian Year was held Thursday, July 13th. There will be no
August meeting due to the numerous Knights events taking place throughout the month: the Supreme Convention, the Grand Knights
University, and the State Council Picnic. Get involved and start your Council off on the right footing for the new Columbian year.
