The Knights of Columbus 2006 Past State Deputies' Memorial
Scholarship raffle tickets were handed out to all Grand Knights
at the December State Council meeting. If you haven't
received yours, please contact Chairman Don Wonchoba @
(302) 798-7788.
These raffle tickets sell for $10 each and provide the
purchaser with 4 opportunities to win $10 to $25 each week for
nine weeks beginning April 7, 2006, culminating with 5
chances to win $50 to $250 at the final drawing on June 9. All
winning tickets are returned to the pot, giving purchases
multiple chances to win. That's 41 chances to win for $10!
And all profit benefits Catholic education by providing $500
scholarships to children in Delaware Catholic elementary
schools.
Many times, these scholarships are all it takes to keep a family
from having to remove their children from Catholic schools
because of budgetary constraints. No wonder this fundraiser
is Bishop Saltarelli's favorite K of C project. As the Bishop
says, "Wouldn't it be great if every Delaware Knight bought
one ticket and sold one ticket."
So many of our future Catholic leaders will benefit so much
from this project. Get your tickets now and start selling.

Souper Bowl Food Collection - February 4/5, 2006
The hardest time of the year for needy families is the
winter season. Family financial resources are stretched
to the breaking point to pay for home heating, warm
clothing, shoes, food etc. Difficult choices often must be
made about where to spend.
The Knights of Columbus can help by supplying Souper
Bowl food collected on February 4 and 5, Super Bowl
football weekend to needy families. Parishioners are
asked to bring one can of soup and one other canned
food and drop it off at church for the needy in your area.
Relieving some of the food cost can help immensely.
Football fans planning a Super Bowl party should re-
member to set something aside as a food donation for
those desperately in need.
Bishop Burke Council Collects for the Handicapped
The Knights of Columbus Bishop Burke Council 11285

handicapped in the lower Sussex County area. Over
$1,000 has been donated to this worthy cause by the
Bishop Burke Council Knights over the past few months
alone.
These brothers join Knights of Columbus throughout our
state and country collecting money to benefit the men-
tally handicapped while giving out Tootsie Rolls as a
thank you to patrons. Pictured are (l. to r.) are Carl
