causes the death of an unborn child in its first eight weeks of developing after conception. The culture of death has grown in
this country, and it must be stopped. As Knights and as Christians, we must defend the unborn and God's plan for creation.
We need to standup for the value of life.
We urgently need every member of the Knights of Columbus and other eligible voters in their family to contact their Delaware
State Representative to voice their opposition to Senate Bill 80. With the Christmas holiday upon us, it is not a convenient
time, but it is the only time, and the only chance we have to stop this evil and dangerous legislation.
The preferred method of contact is a written letter. The second most effective contact is by phone, while the third is e-mail.

Keep the letter respectful and brief. Write legibly or type. Give specific examples of why you oppose SB 80:
·
Some people say we have an urgent need to perform destructive embryonic research to cure disease. But they are
wrong. Cures are more likely to come from other research programs. Embryonic stem cell research has not cured one
person.
·
Cures of diabetes, spinal cord injury, Alzheimer Disease appear much closer with other approaches and adult stem cell
research. Harvard researchers are ready to begin trials for Type I diabetes with non-stem cell treatment.
·
The bill bans "reproductive cloning" only if a live birth is an intended result. It does not ban cloning a human being with
intention of allowing growth and development through the months prior to birth. This is not a practice that Delaware
should endorse.
·
Polls indicate that a majority of Americans do not want cures at the cost of other lives, even lives as small as a few hun-
dred cells.
·
We have death row inmates with likely death, but we do not allow harvesting of their organs for research.
Specifically ask them to oppose SB 80:
·
I ask you to vote "NO" on January 12
·
I strongly urge you and your colleagues to reject SB 80.
Sign your name, include your address and request a response.
