Delaware Knight
Brother Knights and Families,
Three very important things are either upon us or coming very soon. The top
item for our attention is Katrina Hurricane Relief. Remember the fundamental
principle of the order is CHARITY. Somewhere you have heard the words
"Charity is duty not a courtesy" and now is the hour. Details of the Knights of
Columbus effort are given in the pages that follow. Our appeal has been out for
less than 5 days and to a very limited group but the results are over $5,500. My
goal for the Delaware Knights is $40,000 that is not just for KofC Charities but
total Knights giving. That sounds like a lot but that is only a little over $10 per member.
Second on our list are the recruiting drives in October. It is critical that we renew ourselves and
grow. If we don't we would die out and that is not an option because many of the things we do are not
matched anywhere. October is the time to look around to your friends, neighbors, relatives, cowork-
ers ... anyone that is a Catholic in good standing and over 18.
The third important event is the Eucharistic Congress. The Delaware Knights of Columbus motto
this year is "The Eucharistic is Life" and the Eucharistic should be at the pinnacle of all our lives.
October is also the end of the Eucharistic Year and our Diocese is the sponsor this celebration. Every
Knight and their family should participate. I urge you to do so. Details are given in this issue.
God Bless,

Dear Brother Knights and Ladies,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank God
for His goodness to me during my recent illness.
I would also like to thank the Worthy State Deputy,
fellow State Officers, and all Brother Knights for your kindnesses and prayers
during my surgery and recovery. Thanks for the flowers, Mass Cards, Get-well
Cards, your visits, and kindness in offering your prayers for me. I sincerely
and deeply appreciate it. It is good to be back.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Vivat Jesus!
