Supreme Director's Message
MY EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME
In accordance with our Order's Laws and Rules, my
third and final term on the Knights of Columbus
Board of Directors will expire on August 31, 2005.
The upcoming 123
rd
Supreme Convention in Chi-
cago will be my final convention as a Supreme Di-
rector. Ironically, Chicago was the site (in the very
same hotel) where I was first elected to the Board by
the delegates of the 114
th
Supreme Convention in
1996.
During these nearly nine years as a Supreme Director I have participated in
the management and charitable work of the Order at its highest level, moni-
tored its consistent membership growth and financial strength, witnessed its
solid support of our Church and clergy, observed the workings of Columbian-
ism in many of our jurisdictions and, with my wife Dale, gained many life-
long friendships along the way. Some of our most memorable moments in-
clude meeting the Holy Father at the Vatican and receiving his Papal Bless-
ing, visiting the Basilica and Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico
City and praying at the Shrine of the North American Missionary Martyrs in
Canada. Our whole experience has been both fulfilling and humble, joyous
and pious, one we will always remember.
But during my nine wonderful years serving the Order on the Board of Direc-
tors, one constant blessing has always been there for us: Our Delaware
Knights of Columbus Family. Dale and I are most proud of all of you. You
have been there supporting us in all we do. We will always be grateful to
each and every one of you for that support and understanding. We look for-
ward to the days ahead as we work with you in support of the work of
Columbianism here in our great state of Delaware.
As we begin this new Columbian Year in Delaware, I congratulate our new
State Council team and join them in showing our pride as members of the
Knights of Columbus and what membership in the Order means to each one
of us. It is truly the Experience of a Lifetime.
Vivat Jesus!
